I’ve been talking to the neighbors to try to figure out what trees we have in our yard since we moved in the first of the year and everything was leafless. I kept finding walnut shells under our really big tree and so I thought that’s what it was. I was not excited about it to say the least. Turns out it’s an Ash. *sigh of relief* The walnut is across the alley a few houses down. The squirrels have just been eating the walnuts in the Ash and leaving their “trash” everywhere. The rest, nobody really knows what they are. Although one is supposedly a grape vine. Story is that nothing was ever planted in the yard. Everything that’s out there just came up and they left it. I think the neighbors are excited to see the shrubs go because when I was out there yesterday with my little pink shears hacking away at them, our next door neighbor came over with some big loppers and was very eager for me to use them. Then a little while later our neighbor two doors down came over with a hack saw. The shrubs are out! Thank you neighbors for your generosity! Now I just have to figure out how to remove the stumps.
For those of you who are familiar with viva pinata, (for those of you who are not, you should check it out. It’s filled with fun, don’t beat ’em, join ’em. The theme song says so) my real garden starting out feels a lot like the starting garden in the game. Thank you beautiful sister in law for introducing me to that game! It makes working on my real yard feel less like work and more like play 🙂
Aww, cute little pretztail sleeping in the front yard.
